FORUM8, a leader in photorealistic, immersive 3D VR engineering software will be showcasing its real-time interactive simulation and modelling technology at this year’s Drive Simulation and Virtual Reality Conference (DSC19) in Strasbourg.
Deployed by the world’s leading motor-vehicle manufacturers and university departments FORUM8’s award winning VR-Design Studio (UC-win/Road) software is used extensively by engineers and research teams in the design and development of the latest generation of autonomous vehicles, advanced driver assisted systems (ADAS) and V2V & V2I platforms. VR-Design Studio is also widely used in the very latest driver training systems and road safety research.
Visitors to the FORUM8 booth will have the opportunity to “test-drive” the latest 3D drive simulator technology. Incorporating Eye-Tracking, Motion-Seat and the SENSO torque-controlled steering wheel, the FORUM8 drive simulators are able to re-create the full range of real-world sound and motion sensory experiences in a controlled, immersive 3D VR environment.
In addition, FORUM8 will be demonstrating a range of advanced software and VR-Design Studio (UC-win/Road) plugins including its unique 3D-B-Vision and Shade3D CAD software. 3D-B-Vision is an Augmented Reality (AR) system that is able to project digital models such as cars and pedestrians onto the real-world to create a composite 3D stereoscopic CGI image.
Shade3D is a comprehensive 3D graphics suite offering a competitive and feature rich tool set available at an affordable price point. Highly intuitive, Shade 3D can be used by both professionals and hobbyists to convert 2D concepts into highly detailed, photo-realistic 3D models.
With over 500,000 worldwide installations Shade 3D is used for a range of applications including automotive and product design, architecture, interior design and advertising illustrations as well as video game development and more.
Shade3D also has a software interface with VR-Design Studio (UC-win/Road) so that models can be exported in 3ds, FBX and COLLADA and hence used within a VR-Design Studio cityscape, road network or other environment.
Also at the booth FORUM8 will be demonstrating VR-Cloud ® a next generation, consensus building cloud platform that enables multiple stakeholders to fully collaborate in the creation of 3D VR urban development models, in real time, via the internet, just using their normal web browser running on a PC, tablet or Android™ Smart phone. Using the latest “A3S” (Anything as a Service) technology, VR-Cloud® ensures smooth transmission speeds capable of supporting a range of real-time applications, including drive simulations.
